With these 9 ways to revamp your fall wellness routine, you'll feel relaxed, refreshed & motivated this autumnal season.
Whenever it's time to transition into a new season, I love to do a complete review of my routines. When the seasons change, so do many of our habits, how we spend our time, and our motivation levels. I'll be the first to admit that my wellness routine can be a hot mess sometimes, which is exactly why revamping my routine every now and then is essential for me.
I'm always anticipating the switch to all things chunky scarves, cozy blankets, and flavoured lattes. It's important to also remember to switch up your fall wellness routine to keep things fresh for the fall.
These are 9 ways to revamp your fall wellness routine this season.
1. Shop locally for in-season produce
As the cooler weather approaches, the fruits & vegetables that are in season change too. Shop locally for produce that's in season. Here in Canada, leeks, pumpkins, brussel sprouts, cranberries, apples and pears are just some of the few foods that are in season. Check what fruit and vegetables are in season where you live, and cook up some new delicious recipes with them!
2. Set a consistent sleep schedule
The summer is all about relaxing and enjoying the moment, so if you've let your sleep schedule slip - you're definitely not alone. Since days are growing shorter, it's essential that you get enough hours of sleep per night. Set a time that you want to be in bed by each night in order to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.
3. Change your skincare routine
If your skin feels duller and dryer in the winter, it might be time to spice up your skincare routine. I always opt for a heavy-duty moisturizer during the winter. I'll only change my moisturizer in the winter if I notice my skin is a lot dryer in the colder months. Right now, I use the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream and have become completely obsessed with it - it always gives me such dewy, soft, and glazed skin that lasts me hours.
4. Update your journal prompts
Using the same journal prompts daily or weekly is a great way to keep things consistent and make sure you stick to your journaling routine. But, using the same journal prompts every day can get repetitive. With every shift in seasons, I change up my journal prompts to keep things feeling new and fresh. These simple morning journal prompts to inspire you will have you excited and optimistic about your journaling routine.
5. Switch up your workouts
In the fall, home and gym workouts become the go-to which means you'll want a good workout playlist with a lot of variety. Making your workouts fun & exciting will help motivate you to keep working out in the colder months.
Trying out a new type of workout will .. I started adding Pilates and yoga to my workouts and love the change & how I look so forward to working out. These are a few great channels you can watch to help you switch up your workouts.
6. Listen to inspiring podcasts
There is nothing like finding a new podcast that you connect with and that makes you feel inspired. I'm always looking for new podcasts to listen to and whenever I find a good podcast, I feel so inspired & motivated! Finding new podcasts can help you get out of a rut & revamp your wellness routine.
If you're a lover of inspiring podcasts like me, you'll love listening to these podcasts.
7. Try new recipes for the fall
Once you have all of your fresh produce- try to cook some new recipes for the fall. Cooking new season-related recipes really makes you feel like you're in the thick of that new season. There are so many delicious fall-inspired recipes that are easy to cook and will create all of the fall vibes. 8. Practice guided meditation
This is something I've only recently started doing and wish I would have started doing sooner. If you're like me and struggle with meditating to music or sounds, try a guided meditation. When you're just starting out in meditation, your mind will wander and it can be hard to quiet your mind. Guided meditations have helped me stay focused and committed to finishing the entire meditation video (I'm notorious for ending meditations after just 2 or 3 minutes).
9. Do something for yourself
Part of your self-care routine is about doing something just for yourself. Whether it's changing your hair, getting your nails done, starting up a hobby you love - do something that's just for you. It can be as simple as leaving 20 minutes at the end of every day to read a book before bed. Don't forget to treat yourself every now and then to help you feel valued, happy, and in a moment of joy where you're doing something you love.
