These are the best tips on how to set new monthly goals you'll achieve.
A new month means a fresh start, new goals, and a sense of motivation for the month ahead. The start of a new month is one of the best times to take time to reevaluate your goals, and set fresh goals to achieve.
It's easy to set goals and feel inspired to achieve them, but it can sometimes be tough to put them to action and work towards actually achieving your goals. If you've ever struggled with reaching your goals, this post is for you! In this post, I'll go over my routine to setting goals and achieving them at the start of a new month.
These are simple tips on how you can set monthly goals you'll actually achieve.
1. Start by setting your 3 top goals
Set your top 3 goals for the month ahead. Limiting your top goals to just 3 will help you focus, and keep you from getting overwhelmed with too many goals. 3 bigger goals is a good starting point for the month and will keep you on track.
2. Use a notebook to write in
Whether you're using a planner, goal tracker, or a notebook- physically write your goals down somewhere so that you can always reference them when you need. I find writing things out helps me remember them much easier. Physically writing your goals will help you feel more connected to your goals and can help you better remember them too.
3. Under each goal, jot down your steps
One thing that will help you achieve your goals is writing out the steps that you need to take to reach your goals. It's all too easy to write down your goals, only to be stuck wondering how to start achieving them - or forgetting about them as the month goes by. I love breaking down my goals step by step and writing out the exact steps to take to achieve them.
4. Use a goal planner
To stay consistent and keep yourself accountable, use a goal planner to plan out your goals. Goal planners are perfect for giving you a space to write out your goals and having a place where you can reflect on them and see them physically written down.
5. Track your progress
Whether you use a habit tracker or write down your progress in a notebook- it's important to keep track of your progress. Check in with yourself at the end or start of each week to see if you're making any strides towards your goals.
6. Create habits that support your goals
When you have a set of goals, you'll want to make sure that your daily habits support your goals and bring you closer to reaching them. Try adding a new habit to your weekly schedule until it becomes a part of your routine. You'll need to practice good habits that support your goals, rather than distract you from them. Atomic Habits by James Clear is an amazing book all about forming habits, and how you can bring new habits into your life.
7. Use goal-setting journal prompts
Journaling is such a reflective and inspiring practice, which is why I love using goal-setting journal prompts. It's helpful to take a step back from your goals to reflect on them and to write about them and why you want to achieve them. This is one of my favourite practices because it helps me better understand my goals and my motivations.
