These are 9 intention setting journal prompts to feel motivated & inspired.
Happy October everyone! Can you believe we're already into the full swing of fall? The fall is my absolute favourite season - I always feel so inspired and have so many new ideas during this time of year.
When it comes to my journaling routine, most of my journal prompts start off with the intention of the day. An intention is an aim or purpose you set to achieve for yourself. I love setting a daily intention so that I have a direction to begin with when pursuing my goals. If you're new to journaling, setting an intention or want to learn more about the process- this post is for you!
Intention setting journal prompts are those that help you start your day with purpose. You can use them to help you create a clearer pathway towards your goals. They can also be used as a great motivator and leave you feeling more inspired to chase your goals.
These are 9 intention setting journal prompts to help you feel motivated and inspired.
1. What are my top 3 goals for today?
Start off by listing out your top 3 goals for the day. 3 goals is just enough to cover what you need to get done today without overwhelming yourself with too many goals. My goals are often career related and sound something like this:
1. Write 2 blog posts
2. Schedule out social media posts for the week
3. Fill out content calendar for this month
Make sure that your goals are specific so that they're actionable things you can tick off of your list.
2. What are the beliefs and patterns I hold that I want to change?
Most of us wouldn't speak to our friends and families the way we speak to ourselves sometimes. Fortunately, with some work and the proper prompts, you can change the way you speak to yourself. Think about the limiting self beliefs you have that are holding you back.
These could be anything from I'm not good enough, to that's just not for me. Write down the negative thought patterns and beliefs you have onto the page. This will help you understand what you need to change moving forward.
3. Where do I see myself in 1 year?
Visualize your future and where you see yourself in 1 year. Think about all of the goals you have for yourself and what you want to come from achieving those goals. Your vision of yourself a year from now may look like buying a home in the next two years, having a family, or having a successful career. Whatever it is, write down what you see for yourself in a year. Write down what would bring you the most joy from your career, relationships, and life in general.
4. What are my top 5 goals for the year?
Now that you've visualized where you want to be in a year, write down your top 5 goals for this year. These should be goals that will help you get closer to that picture you created of yourself in a year. This will get you excited about the goals you're setting for yourself and the thought of achieving them.
5. How am I keeping myself accountable for reaching my goals?
When you set goals, it's important to follow up on them and your progress towards achieving them. How are you keeping yourself accountable for reaching your goals? Are you setting milestones for yourself, or tracking your goals in a planner? For me, I love to use a goal tracker
6. What does success look and feel like to me?
Think about what success looks like to you. Visualize your perfect idea of success, whether that's success in your career, social life, family life, or anything else that would bring you joy. Visualizing your success will help you manifest it and feel genuinely inspired to keep working towards your goals.
7. What does my ideal day look like?
If you could do anything, what would you be doing right now? Imagine your ideal day- what would it look like? Write out what your ideal day would look like from the morning, all the way to the very end of the day. Go through your day step by step and imagine what it would feel like to be living your ideal life and routine. This part always gets me so inspired and motivated to keep working towards that.
8. What are you excited to manifest into your life?
Write down what you're most excited to manifest into your life. This can be possessions, hobbies, career goals, and anything else that makes you feel excited about the future. Write your manifestations in present tense - as though you've already manifested them and have them in your life right now.
Speaking about your manifestations in the present tense will put you into the headspace of abundance and will help attract those manifestations into your life. It's all about your mindset & how much you're willing to work for your goals.
9. List the things you want more of in your life
What do you want more of in your life? This can be so many different things- it all depends on what you need more of in your day to day. For me, I would list yoga, nature, family time, and time spent on my career. You can also list off feelings you want more of like calm, joy, and gratitude. Maybe you want to feel more thankful, empathetic, or relaxed. Writing down and bringing awareness to what you want more of in your life will help you shift your goals and mindset towards attracting just that.
