Looking for nighttime journal prompts to end your evening with? These are our favourite prompts to help unwind after a long, busy day.
Journaling is a simple practice you can use to get out of your head and reflect on how you're feeling. I can't praise journaling enough and still, if you're anything like me, the times you need journaling most are probably also the times you don't want to do it. Whenever I feel this way, I know what I really should do is take out my journal and write something—anything is better than a blank page.
Journal prompts are an incredible help when you're not feeling inspired to write. While practicing my morning gratitude and journal prompts are now a solidified daily practice, nighttime journaling has been hard to do consistently.
These nighttime journal prompts have been my recent go-to, and will help you get out of your head and relax before going to sleep.

The Benefits of Journaling
There are so many benefits to journaling that I had no idea about when I first started out. These benefits are one of the reasons I've made journaling such a priority in my daily routine. If you find yourself overwhelmed by your emotions, suffer from anxiety, or struggle to communicate how you really feel—journaling may be able to help.
Journaling has been shown to help manage anxiety, reduce stress, and even cope with depression.
It's a way for you to manage your mental health, identify your negative thoughts, and can provide a space for you to use positive self-talk. You may not even realize the reoccurring negative thoughts you have in a day until you write them down in your journal.
Self-talk can be incredibly difficult to do, especially if you're not used to doing it. It can feel awkward and in the beginning, writing down your positive thoughts and affirmations about yourself can help you start to believe them.
Nighttime Journal Prompts For Your Evening Routine
Start off with a short nighttime journal routine every night before bed. You don't have to do each one of these prompts and can choose the ones that resonate with you the most. These are here for inspiration—if you think of anything else to write, write it out!
Break up your nighttime journal prompts into three parts: reflection, lessons, and future thoughts. I love using this system so that I go through the day in order when I journal, which helps me to remember the events of the day a lot easier. Here are 13 nighttime journal prompts to add to your evening routine before bed.
Reflect on the day
1. How was your day?
2. What went well?
3. What didn't go so well?
4. Overall, how would you rate today on a scale of 1-10? Why?
Lessons you learned
5. What is one thing you learned today?
6. What was holding you back today?
7. Write down any limiting beliefs you experienced today.
8. What would you say to yourself instead?
Thoughts for tomorrow
9. Write down one thing you're looking forward to tomorrow
10. How will you make tomorrow a good day?
11. What thoughts will you prioritize tomorrow?
12. Gratitude: write down that you're grateful for
13. Manifestations: what are you manifesting for yourself?
The Best Journals To Use That I Swear By
Finding a high quality journal that I could use every day wasn't easy. Most times, after a few uses, the pages would start to fall out which is the absolute worse thing when you buy a new journal. These are my favorite journals that I use every single day. They can be considered more pricey, but the pages never fall out.
I've even ripped out a few pages I wasn't happy with (the perfectionist in me couldn't resist) out, which I wouldn't recommend, but the journals are still in perfect condition.
