Sunday is the unofficial reset day to get back on track and prep for a fresh start. After a long, busy, and stressful weekâit's essential that you have a day to reset and recharge. When you create a Sunday reset routine, you give yourself time to reflect on the past week while prepping for a new one. By using your Sunday to be productive and check off your to-do list while also relaxing, you'll feel rested and optimistic about Monday.
1. Check off unfinished chores
Before you start planning the week ahead, finish any chores you have left around the house. Organize and clean your home and tackle chores like laundry, cleaning, dishes, and anything else that's left unfinished. Decluttering your home will help you declutter your mind and is key to feeling good in your space.
2. Meal plan/prep
Plan out your meals for the week ahead and if you can, do a meal prep to make things easier. This makes such a difference in my weeks and it saves so much time. You won't have to spend your evenings cooking for the week or going last minute grocery shopping. Instead, rest easy knowing your dinners are planned out for you and ready to go.
3. Journal + brain dump
Write a journal entry about the past week or use weekend journal prompts to lean into how you're feeling. You can write about how your week went, both the good and bad, what you want to experience more/less of the week ahead, and unload any feelings you have. I also love doing a brain dump every Sunday about how I'm feeling.
With a brain dump, you can write about literally anything that's on your mind. Just start writing what's on your mind to help release it from your thoughts. This is so therapeutic and is the perfect way to de-stress and prep for a fresh start.
4. Do a self-care spa treatment
Reset for a brand new week with a self-care spa treatment. Make your Sunday the perfect blend of productive and relaxing to get you in a good mindset for the week. Pamper your skin with a face mask, an ice-roller, or a bath to help you wind down.
5. Write out a gratitude list
Take a moment to think about everything that you're grateful do. I do this especially on weekends after a tough or stressful week to help me reset my mindset. Practicing gratitude is essential to keeping yourself feeling centered and appreciative of what you do have, even when things aren't going well.
6. Create a to-do list for the week
Start the week off right with a to-do list of your weekly tasks and goals. Planning out and writing your to-do list makes it much easier to follow. You won't end up forgetting half of your tasks or feel overwhelmed by all you have to do if it's written in an organized list.
7. Change your bed sheets & towels
This is so simple but a go-to way to freshen up your home and get you feeling refreshed. Change out your bed sheets for a set that's fresh out the laundry and replace your towels with a clean set. Not only will this revamp your bedroom and bathroom, but it'll also have you feeling clean and cozy.
8. Get your work bag or desk ready
Prep yourself for the week by getting your work gear ready. This always helps me to alleviate any anxieties I have about the week by feeling more prepared. Rather than having to rush out the door for work or skipping your morning routine to start on time, you'll be organized and ready to go.
9. Lay out your Monday outfit
Picking out your outfit for the day ahead of time saves so much headache. You won't have to spend time sifting through your closet for the perfect outfit or end up late because you have nothing to wear. Set yourself up for a slow, relaxed morning by choosing your fit before the morning.
10. Disconnect early
Once you've gotten yourself ready for the week ahead, it's time to relax and reset. Disconnect from your computer and phone early, and do something you enjoy. Whether that's reading a book, watching Netflix, or practicing yoga, make sure it's something that calms you. Turn your mind off and enjoy the last bit of the weekend with a chill activity.
