This post is all about the insanely good morning routine for a productive day.
The way you wake up and start your morning sets the tone for your mood and mindset. When I didn't have a set morning routine, I was so disorganized and had no order for how I went about my day. It left me feeling unmotivated and made getting any work done so much harder.
Now that I have a morning routine, I'm obsessed! I'm an early riser and love starting my day early. While I don't love waking up super early in the morning, it keeps me on track and is my favorite hack for having a productive day.

Morning Routine Schedule
1. Wake up earlier in the morning
I usually wake up at 5:30-6:00 am and this gives me so much time to get ready in the mornings. Waking up earlier in the morning will open up space to start your day without having to rush and stress. As much as it may be tempting to sleep in, it can throw your whole day out of whack.
Instead of using your phone as an alarm, invest in an alarm clock so you're not tempted to scroll in the morning.
2. Avoid scrolling on your phone
This is, in my opinion, the most important rule of every morning routine. I used to scroll on my phone without fail every morning until I realized it was seriously messing with my mindset. Now, I don't go on my phone in the mornings and it's completely transformed my routine!
Avoid your phone just after waking up and let yourself start your day without it. Eventually, you won't even reach for it in the mornings.
3. Get in a workout
There's just something about working out in the morning that makes the day better. I love getting my yoga practice and workout done when I wake up. It gets me in such a positive headspace and really sets me up for the day. There are so many amazing yoga channels on YouTube that are free and perfect for both beginners and seasoned yogis.
Instead of yoga, you can do your morning cardio, weights session, or other workout in the morning to kickstart your day right.
4. Journal and meditate
After my yoga and workout session, I'll do a 5-20 meditation depending on how early it is in the morning. Meditation and journaling have changed my life- I can go on and on about how grateful I am that I started doing them each morning.
I love Joe Dispenza's morning meditation and recommend it if you have 20-25 minutes to do it. If not, A Zen Mind Guided Meditations has a great morning gratitude meditation that's shorter and just as calming.
When you're looking for a set of quick morning journal prompts, these journal prompts will leave you feeling inspired and excited for the day.
5. Shower and get ready for the day
After the workout, stretch, and meditation are done, it's time to shower and get ready for the day. This is the time I use for doing my skincare and getting my hair and makeup done. I also take a cold shower and try to calm my mind in the shower to help with anxiety and stress.
6. Take a walk
Morning walks are a gamechanger. If you have time to fit in a walk, even a short 10 minute one, I recommend going on one and seeing how you feel after. Being outside in the early morning is so calming and relaxing.
7. Make breakfast and lunch
At the end of the morning, make your breakfast (if you eat one) and your lunch for work if you haven't prepped it yet. This is the perfect time to slow down and unwind before the busyness of the day sets in.
Having an organized morning routine is the best way to make sure you don't miss breakfast and making a lunch. Mornings are super busy and having time blocks will make following your schedule way easier.

Tips For a Productive Morning Routine
1. Start slow
Start your morning by implementing new routines slowly. You don't want to completely change your routine overnight and then totally overwhelm yourself. First wake up at 6:30 am, and then work towards 6:15 and 6:00 in the week if you find it's too challenging at the start.
There's no rush or perfect way to create a morning routine. Do what feels right and start slow.
2. Accept that off days happen
You're going to have days where you miss doing your morning routine, especially in the beginning. Don't beat yourself up over it! It takes time to change habits and follow a new routine that you're not used to.
3. Build off of your habits
One lesson I've learned from the book Atomic Habits is that you can make tiny changes each day that build up into lifechanging results. Use the morning habits you already practice and pair them with a new habit.
For example, if you drink coffee every morning, write in your journal while you drink your cup of coffee.
4. Write it down
Writing down your routine and goals makes them seem more real and way easier to follow. I write down everything and when it came to my morning routine, writing it in my planner was a lifesaver.
Using daily planning sheets is the best way to plan out and implement your morning routine. For me, these are key to staying productive and on track.
