By now, you probably have a few healthy habits that are part of your wellness routine, like eating healthy, exercising, and going in for your annual check ups. But, if keeping You don't have to have an overcomplicated wellness routine to prioritize your health. Most of the changes that will make you feel better are small and easy to implement.
Instead of creating an entirely new wellness routine, it's better to revamp your existing routine with a few tweaks to create one that makes you feel healthy.
Set a wake time
Getting up every morning at the same time is an effortless way to create a routine that's easy to stick to. Without consistency, it's hard to implement a routine and without one, you'll feel less motivated. Structure is a good thing, and having a set time to wake up will keep you accountable.
Write out your health goals
Is there something specific you want to work on with your health? Do you have a goal you've been wanting to reach? Take time for some much needed self-reflection, and write out your health goals one by one. Whether you have a wellness planner, a journal, or a simple notepad, the best way to stay accountable for your goals is to write them down.
These journal prompts for self-reflection are some of my favourites for goal setting and looking back to see what I need to work on.
Update your skin care routine
It could be time to make some changes. As we age, our skin changes and so should our daily and nightly skin routine.
When you get closer to your 30's, it's time to start using products that protect your skin from daily elements. Investing in your skin care routine is one of those investments that are always worth it. From red light therapy, to face masks and collagen-boosting skin products, there are plenty of skin care essentials to help you boost your skin's glow.
Practice gratitude
One of my most important goals for this year is to practice gratitude every day. Practicing gratitude is an easy way to start your morning off with an abundant mindset, and a positive way of thinking to shape the rest of the day. I use my five minute gratitude journal to help keep myself accountable and to practice being grateful every morning and in my night routine.
Read books that can change your life
Reading is one of my favourite practices to disconnect from the online world and quiet my mind. Self-help books can have so much helpful and inspiring content that can change and even improve your mindset.
Find a self-help book that speaks to you and spend time reading it. Working through your barriers and understanding yourself better will help future you in your relationships with others, yourself, your career, and much more.

In order to help create a wellness routine that works for you and that you stick to, write it out in a planner or scheduler. Putting your schedule and plans down on paper make them real and give you somewhere you can look back on to stay on track and stay focused.
Prioritize your supplements
Everyone’s needs for supplements are unique, and if you have a relatively balanced, healthy diet in your 20’s, you won’t need to supplement much at all. Supplements can make a massive difference in how you feel both physically and mentally.
Some essential supplements are great for overall health and if you feel like it's time to start supplements, it’s best to consult your doctor about the next steps to take.
Spend time in nature
Nature is often an overlooked way to connect back to ourselves, quiet the mind, and find inner peace. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, overworked, or in need of a break, spend some time outside, even if it's only a few minutes a day.
Whether it’s for daily walks, hikes, road trips, or any other day spent outside, you can't beat fresh air and the outdoors.
Add something fun just for yourself
Every routine should have a part of it that you genuinely look forward to and is for fun. Most wellness essentials are just a fun way to pamper yourself—which your routine should include! Add in a weekly everything shower, hot bath, sauna session, or anything else that would make you feel good into your routine.
Find a workout that works for you
Staying active plays a vital role in how you feel physically and mentally. If you hate working out, you may have just not found the type of workout that's right for you. When I was going to the gym, I didn't enjoy my workout and dreaded going there most days.
Now, I've switched gyms, started swimming, and have leaned into new classes like yoga, pilates, and cycling. Try out some new workouts to see what you enjoy. Keeping up with your workout routine will help clear your mind and do wonders to your mental health.
